Mr Alex Warren OBE, Scotland's top Ballroom Dancer and Teacher along with a few other professionals felt that the opinions of the Scottish Professionals were not listened to down South and so he wrotea letter to all Scottish Professionals inviting them to a meeting to discuss the forming of a purely Scottish Society and make a break-away from the Imperial Society in London. To be a member you had to be a) Scottish or of Scottish descent b) a full time professional.

Mel did Level 1 Teacher Training with Paulette Rees Denis, of Gypsy Caravan™, in Portland, Oregon in 2008 and, since then, has taught tribal belly dance in Moray. She holds weekly tribal bellydance classes in Elgin and Grange, by Keith and is available for workshops, hen nights, private functions, private tuition and performances. Her classes are suitable for people of all ages shapes, sizes and levels of fitness.
The Esk Academy Of Dancing was founded by the Principal Beryl Couper who has trained and danced professionally in Edinburgh and London. Miss Couper was Co Director of Scottish - American BalletCompany for several years with Alexander Bennett, a former soloist with the Royal Ballet and Artistic Director of the American Ballet Company.
With coach JJ having qualifications with the BCA (British Cheerleading Association) All squads compete in competitions and perform in our yearly show. Every school holidays we offer a dance camp toall kids from Arbroath. This gives kids the opportunity to meet new friends, learn dance & cheer, arts and crafts, go to the park, beach party PLUS put on a show all in 1 week! Fantastic fun and a great way to kick start the holidays.
