Creation Dance runs friendly, relaxed and informal dance classes for adults. We specialise in teaching people who have NEVER danced before, or who last hit the dance floor in a tutu aged 4. If thatsounds like you, our classes are the place to start learning street dance. Classes are 1h long and are suitable for beginners. The company kicked off preparations for their autumn tour with a week long residency at Dancebase in Edinburgh. The rest of the rehearsals have been taking place at The Calton Centre and a short videois available showing the company working on Rafael Bonachela's '4:Freeze-Frame'. The piece was originally created in 2005 as a co-commission by Dancebase and has an incredible soundtrack featuring Throbbing Gristle and Nine Inch Nails.
Welcome to the Phelan School of Dance which was formed in the 1970s by Mary Phelan. Mary lectures in tap at UKA Conferences and examines for the UKA in Scotland and Northern Ireland. She is alsotrained in examining for SQA highland/stage exams. Her niece, Lisa Phelan, Vice-Principal, commenced her training at 2 years of age competing successfully in numerous dance styles. Pupils commence classes at 2 years of age with specialist classes offered for Under 5s.
