In January 2003 the Stacy McMullen School of Dance was established at Hedworthfield Community Centre, Jarrow offering classes in Tap & Stage. The school had approximately 5 pupils when it first opened. By the end of the schools first year they had over 40 pupils attending classes on a regular basis. With the schools successful 1st year Stacy's sister Emma decided to come on board and they were then able to offer classes in ballet and disco.
