
All the teachers at the school are fully CRB checked and have relevant knowledge in health and safety and first aid. All the teachers also regularly attend seminars, courses and workshops to keep upto date with the teaching practices of today. The Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance opened in Kirkbymoorside in January 2006. Classes are held daily for children starting from as young as 3 years. Adult classes are also available. We also offer parent and toddler classes from 18 months.

Our school is where you will receive the best quality ballet training. Donya Keys, Principal and founder of En Pointe, is a highly trained and experienced ballet teacher, and ex-professional dancer.Miss Rachel, our qualified senior teacher is also a professional dancer. Miss Rebecca trained at the RAD and is a fully qualified teacher. En Pointe ballet school has several venues around York. We practice the world recognised Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

Lorraines School of Dancing is a small, professional and friendly dance organisation teaching many forms of dance to pupils of all skill levels. We are available for private tuition, dance classes andthe hosting of full dance events. All dances are taught by Lorraine a professionally qualified member of the I.D.T.A. We have several new beginners' classes starting soon; Ballroom & Latin American, Rock 'n' Roll and Salsa.

Taking part in dance shows is important to Just Dance. Participation in these events provides the pupils with the opportunity to build confidence and skill in performance, in an environment where theycan bond and observe each other to improve. We are keen to recognise progress, and often enter our pupils into dance exams and competitions. This provides individual goals, and helps to perfect techniques which have been learned.

Dance has always been a interest and passion of mine and, from a young age, I began learning and training in a variety of styles, from Jazz, Ballet & Modern dance to Contemporary and Street/Hip Hop.Over the years, my experiences include performing at local theatre groups and taking part in many local and community dance projects as a performer and choreographer. I trained at York St John University where I achieved a BA(Hons) Degree in Dance and Performance Arts.

York Dance Factory is a dance school offering fun, vibrant and friendly street dance classes in York, plus ballet, tap and contemporary classes for anyone who loves to dance from adults to teenagersand kids - an exciting way to keep fit! We were very proud in August 2014 to have two teams qualify for the UDO World Street Dance Championships in Glasgow and we competed with some of the world's best teams from across the globe - a fabulous and inspiring opportunity for the teams.

Patricia started the school around the 1960's at the Acomb church hall on Front Street. She then opened the school where it is situated today, 6 - 8, Regent Buildings Acomb, York. Patricia worked hardwith all her passion and dedication to gain the reputation she still has to this day. Sadly, she passed away in January 2010 and is greatly missed by us all.

Starbrite Studios offers performers of any age the chance to have fun, exercise, make new friends and develop new skills to succeed. We provide a range of dance classes, musical theatre classes(STARS) and dance parties which build confidence and develop imagination in a safe and secure environment.

Danceworx now offers the IDTA ofqual recognised vocational dance qualifications a level 2, 3 and 4 certificate or diploma with credits going towards university ucas points. No one would leave therechild with a nursery or playgroup without checking it was run properly however this is often overlooked when choosing a dance school, having this award means that as a parent you know that at Danceworx we are committed to putting the safe well being and training of your child first.

Danceology was established in 2004 by Principals Sally Barton and Kay Hogg. The school prides itself on professional standards and high quality teaching in a friendly and welcoming environment. Over300 pupils are trained from nursery age right through to degree level and many of these pupils have been with us from the start which is testament to our success and commitment to continued improvement.
