
All the teachers at the school are fully CRB checked and have relevant knowledge in health and safety and first aid. All the teachers also regularly attend seminars, courses and workshops to keep upto date with the teaching practices of today. The Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance opened in Kirkbymoorside in January 2006. Classes are held daily for children starting from as young as 3 years. Adult classes are also available. We also offer parent and toddler classes from 18 months.

Danceworx now offers the IDTA ofqual recognised vocational dance qualifications a level 2, 3 and 4 certificate or diploma with credits going towards university ucas points. No one would leave therechild with a nursery or playgroup without checking it was run properly however this is often overlooked when choosing a dance school, having this award means that as a parent you know that at Danceworx we are committed to putting the safe well being and training of your child first.

Miss Jo's wedding gave some of our staff and pupils the opportunity to show their skills in the modern genre - this was shown as a surprise to Jo's now husband! These are busy times for us atChatsworth (even after Miss Jo's wedding!). Many of our classes are full - particularly Born to Dance, Pre-School and Preparatory so please email us to check availabilty.

Students are taught from Pre-assessment (3 years old - boys and girls) through to full advance in many subjects, including: Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Singing, Drama and Musical Theatre. Weendeavour to make dance and theatre a happy experience for all our students, teaching with care and understanding. We believe dance can build character and confidence as well as co-ordination, rhythm, strength and flexibility.

Thanks to our link with Preston College can now offer a FULLY funded FULL TIME course for 16 - 18 year olds who wish to persue a career in dance. This builds well on the work done at lower levels inGCSE dance and Vocational Examinations, and leads to a qualification equivalent to 3 A levels, with the same UCAS points.

Street Revolution is committed to the development of Street Dance in the UK.Our aim is to provide classes for every level of dancer and further the development of Street Dance by giving qualitytuition. People of all ages and abilities can benefit both physically and mentally from participation in Street. Let the Revolution begin.

Kings Performing Arts offer outstanding classes and training in Dance, Drama and Singing with endless opportunities to perform. Our aim is to help youngsters gain confidence, friends and the knowledgeof performing arts and everything involved. Kings is a part-time school for children and teenagers aged between 4-18. If you are in that age bracket, interested and wanting to get involved, Kings Performing Arts is the place for you.

Our school is where you will receive the best quality ballet training. Donya Keys, Principal and founder of En Pointe, is a highly trained and experienced ballet teacher, and ex-professional dancer.Miss Rachel, our qualified senior teacher is also a professional dancer. Miss Rebecca trained at the RAD and is a fully qualified teacher. En Pointe ballet school has several venues around York. We practice the world recognised Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

Danceology was established in 2004 by Principals Sally Barton and Kay Hogg. The school prides itself on professional standards and high quality teaching in a friendly and welcoming environment. Over300 pupils are trained from nursery age right through to degree level and many of these pupils have been with us from the start which is testament to our success and commitment to continued improvement.

Patricia started the school around the 1960's at the Acomb church hall on Front Street. She then opened the school where it is situated today, 6 - 8, Regent Buildings Acomb, York. Patricia worked hardwith all her passion and dedication to gain the reputation she still has to this day. Sadly, she passed away in January 2010 and is greatly missed by us all.
