Base-Dance began in 2008 running one adult Street dance class in our local church hall just because we loved dance, we became addicted to how much fun we could have dancing with friends. We started byworking with community groups, councils and schools before opening our own dance studio. Now we are coming to Ormskirk where we aim to be a hub for everyone, with one belief in dance.
Miss Sutcliffe is a fully registered Dance Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance gaining all her teaching certificates with Distinction. Miss Sutcliffe is also fully qualified with the I.S.T.D.teaching Tap, Modern, Jazz and Ballet, again passing all her teaching qualifications with distinction.
Here at LongsWay Dance Centre, we offer the chance to take dance lessons in Ballroom, Latin and Salsa Dancing. From beginner to advanced, social dancing to competitive dancing, all done in a relaxedenvironment. Studies suggest that dancing can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, increase flexibility and fitness levels. Like other sports, dancing releases endorphins which can make a person feel better. No matter what age or experience, dancing is something that can benefit your mind, body and soul.
At Shimmin Dance we strive to create a happy and caring environment and pride ourselves in helping every aspiring young dancer reach their full potential. Children are welcome to start classes at anyage and anytime throughout the year. We hold regular examination sessions in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz and are proud of our excellent 100% pass rate.
There is a strong emphasis on performance in the academy and students are given the opportunity to participate in a show biannually. Guest teachers to the LSQ Academy of Dance will also ensure thatstudents are exposed to a variety of teaching styles and methods.
The Stage Factory Dance & Theatre School is a fun and friendly school based in Ravenhead, St Helens, Merseyside. Classes are held in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre. The school, which openedin February 2005, is run by Helen Pender AISTD, a former professional dancer & singer, and has approximately 160 pupils. The emphasis on all classes is "performance". Consequently, children will be involved in various concerts and shows throughout the year.
As well as offering Ballet, Tap and Modern lessons to students aged 2 years upwards, we now also offer Street Dance, Drama, Singing and Musical Theatre classes. We have examination classes availableto all children aged 3 and above, and all students who attend are given the chance to enter for BBO exams. We also give our most capable students the opportunity to compete in dance festivals and competitions around the North West.
Calling all Dancemum's fans! An amazing opportunity is coming to the Dancesteps studio, Sunday 22nd march 2015 from 1.30pm onwards. Dancemums superstar Tayluer Amos will be coming to do a dance workshop and performance, along with a meet and greet, there will be photo opportunities and a DVD so that you can take away your dancemums experience!
My personal assistant in the dance department, Stephanie was one of my first pupils a determined young lady. She began her training here at Chiltern at the age of nine going on at sixteen to LiverpoolTheatre School, and Phil Winston's Theatre Works Blackpool. She danced professionally before returning to her greatest love teaching. We are lucky to have this young lady in our school.
Martins Dance Centre opened on 5th December 1937, and up to the present day has continually provided the people of Merseyside with lessons in all types of dancing. It was owned and operated by MrBilly Martin, a name that was synonymous with Ballroom Dancing throughout Merseyside, and his wife Pauline, who during the war years continued to run classes on her own.
