As the name suggests, BollyStreet is a literal combination of Bollywood Dance and Street Dance. However, unlike many other dance fusion acts, we keep our dance styles in the their RAW FORMS. The great thing about combining these two styles is that each class is packed full of energy! The big explosive moves from Bollywood Dance and the attitude from Street Dance has created a very unique, fun and exciting dance class!
My love for Ballroom and Latin dancing started in Australia at the age of five, under the guidance of world champion teachers and mentors. I began competing in both styles at the age of 10 and danced at the highest levels until winning the title of Australian champion in New Vogue and Ballroom. After leaving competitive dancing, the next step for me was to share my experience and passion through teaching to both adults and children.
The British Dance Council was formed in 1929 as the Official Board of Ballroom Dancing (OBBD). The name was subsequently changed in 1985 to the British Council of Ballroom Dancing and, again in 1996, the name was changed to British Dance Council. The aim of the founders of the Council was to establish a co-ordinating organisation to enable teachers to work together on uniform lines.
